interesting, i was under the impression when a mobile is turned off is is neither receiving or sending data to its exchange/connection system, is this not correct?

what would happen if we removed the battery?

I understand they use microwave frequencies, can they transmit a signal that the mobile would respond to even with the battery removed?

FBI want to track Mafia listening to their phones?

Do they know the real mafiosi use a technology called "pizzini" for that purpose? No cell phones, no phones, no radio, but a small piece of paper with encoded messages passed by hand using a trusted network of people.

So if FBI knows that... the real reason to use cellphones to listen to conversations is simple:

- military and commercial espionage first. Simple as listening to meeting conversations using a parabolic microphone, bombarding a place with microwaves at a given frequency could activate or amplify the microphone then "catch" those waves with an antenna... target properly and they could listen any conversation...

Using the old (very old) motorola phones it was even easier: put in short circuit the battery of your phone using a silver foil paper and entering a particular code onto the phone (those * numbers) and you could listen to all conversations nearby... (I did that many years ago... and I guarantee it works...)

so... yeah it can be done and can be done easily too...

I always believed that with the battery removed they were stumped... I didn't know about the microwave thingy  :o

Even if we got rid of the mobiles, surely they could still monitor the land lines! SIGH

At this rate, the only way we could live 'freely' is to become hermits! - Then if 'Project BLUEBEAM' comes into play, most of everyone else gets killed off. So when our 'off world' friends get around to showing themselves, the only people left to greet them will be not much different from the cave men they 'tinkered with' to start with!

Oh well, What goes around, comes around  ;D

love and enlightenment

It sounds likea lot of wind to me because there are millions of phones all over the world and there changing hand's all the time! as soon as one is a year old its gone an a new one takes its place!

Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about

The way they use this technology is way simple... no need to activate any specific phone...

let's say they want to do some surveillance in a specific place. Traditionally they had the need to bug the area now they only need to activate the phones which will work as micro bugs.

I don't envision a 1 to 1 tracking as Dave noted it would be a difficult to do so.

That's assuming they even need to use cells for area-specific surveillance. They have plenty of other methods too.

on cell phones, car stereos, radios and most any other electronic device that sends or recieves any sort of signal, its govt law that they adhere to certain "standards".  One such standard, and it is usually printed on the back or underside of the device "This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions : (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference recieved, including interference that may cause undesired operation."

Ive noticed it for a long time, sounds like permission to spy to me.
One day we'll all wake up
