Walking & Running Barefoot

or.. near barefoot if you're not comfortable with pain.

i've been practicing barefoot walking on rough terrain on and off for the past 2 months and have went on two barefoot runs on pretty rocky/rough terrain and feel that it is a worthwhile area of focus for overall health of the body. a friend who went to massage school points out that essentially you are stimulating the foots many meridian points thus in effect getting a free massage or reflexology session!

found this

"When you are walking/running barefoot you are essentially stimulating those points just like you would in a massage or reflexology session!"

thanks for bringing this topic up, as i walk barefoot almost everywhere i go whenever i can get away with it! (certain restaurants and stores dont approve of this indian activity)

also, being barefoot and standing in grass or standing on a part of the earth with high amounts of energy such as certain rocks is also good especially if you're surrounded by electronics all the time, here is an example of that: http://unilibrium.net/marijuanaobe.php

Or for geezers, lol. I went to the beach the other day, and although a very hot day, with the breeze coming off the water, it was very bearable. So I decided to get in my walk, and did about a 2.5 to 3 mile walk (doing a little beachcombing along the way). I got about half a mile from the car when it felt like sand, or something was building up on the bottom of my feet. I stopped and sat down by the edge of the water and washed my feet off and I had blisters building on the balls of both feet. I couldn't believe it. I used to do a little running in my younger days, on the beach, barefooted, and never got a blister one. This was very distressing to me. Maybe I just need to toughen my feet up again or something.

Oh man, I agree about toughening them up. I'm finding more resistance towards pain in the mornings when walking from the garden to the wash house.. later on it's a lot more tolerable. Some of the rocks around here are doozies.
