Charles Hapgood proposed the theory that during the Pleistocene Epoch the Earth revolved around an axis with Hudson Bay, Canada as the North Pole. Hapgood’s theory, developed in his book The Earth’s Shifting Crust, helped to explain a few of the mysteries that surround the end of the Pleistocene and the beginning of the Holocene.
However, many of the questions that surround the change in Epochs remain unanswered. Why? Because Charles Hapgood missed something.
In my book, As Portents Rise I explore the ramifications of this missing piece of the puzzle and finally resolve some of the unanswered questions:
• Why was the ocean lower during the Pleistocene?
• Why was the Earth’s temperature lower during the Pleistocene?
• What happened to the people living at this time? Did they map the entire world?
• Did Terra Australis Incognito indeed exist?
• How does The Younger Dryas fit into this?
And most importantly:
• If it happened once, could it happen again? Possibly in December 2012.
As Portents Rise is an action/adventure novel incorporating the ideas of Charles Hapgood and resolving the missing pieces of the puzzle.
Are you ready to challenge history?
If you believe the following refrain to be true then you have taken the first step:
In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue
with maps in hand drawn long before
he sailed straight to Cuba’s shore.
Great fame he found, of that I’m told.
