Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.

I stumbled onto this, this evening, and watched the first one so far. Pretty interesting.

Salvia divinorum has a long continuing tradition of use as an entheogen by indigenous Mazatec shamans, who use it to facilitate visionary states of consciousness during spiritual healing sessions.[1] The plant is found in isolated, shaded, and moist plots in Oaxaca, Mexico. It grows to well over a meter in height, has large green leaves, and hollow square stems with occasional white and purple flowers. It is thought to be a cultigen.

The use of hallucinogenics has been recognized for thousands of years as being helpful to those seeking to follow the path of a spiritual journey.

Salvia Divinorum falls into the legal category (at least it does in most countries and US States) and is freely available over the Internet. Those who buy salvia report a variety of experiences. Some experience leaving their bodies and traveling in the astral world, while others report traveling back in time or to a point in the future. It is reporter to have curing effects as a natural anti depressant and helps people feel calm directly after the effects are over (5-10 minutes). The calm feeling can last the whole day.

From my own personal 'research' I find it uncomfortably terrifying to say the least.
First, started with the 'big bag of brown' regular strength.
Have to smoke a silly amount in order to get a dizzy anticipation buzz. Usually my throat got plenty sore before my perseption of vision started to slowly rotate clockwise. Time did seem to move slower or my consciousness heightened(a little).
There is more concentrated versions of this in 10X 20X 40X and 60X to my recollection.
I chose to move up slowly going to the 10X version of it brand name of "purple sticky saliva".
What bugged me and still kinda to this day about this is it is neither purple or sticky. More of a forest green. Dry as old pine needles that are of course, dry.
Now this stuff was for real. no joke, on my ass for what seemed forever in a 3-4 minute max time frame.
This is really funny in retrospect.
I was by myself, in my room watching south park. Around the time they put out the  Imaginationland trilogy(if you haven't seen this stop what you are doing and watch them.

I can't find a direct link but they are here in season 11
http://www.southparkstudios.com/

Imaginationland
Episode: 1110

Imaginationland Episode II
Episode: 1111

Imaginationland Episode III
Episode: 1112

Back to my babble.
I had herd that the effect is enhanced by the use of a blue flame for ignition.
So I did. I took a rip. Didn't taste bad a little earthy. Held it in, blew it out. Thought to myself this is probably not going to work as I stare into the television.
Then as the feeling of being grabbed from the inside like if god took me by my blood and laid me down on my side. Not violently but forcefully again in a clockwise motion.
Once this started I don't remember hitting the bed(I was sitting at the time, recommended highly). I was taken to South Park. I remember all the regular characters were there standing around me or more like swirling around me. Pointing and laughing not with me but at me.
Terror overcame me and I tried to rip myself away from this 'induced' I had gotten myself into. It was hard because I was still being held down by my blood or by what had taken hold of.
I pulled myself up and room still in appearance of spinning, ran up the stairs to where my dad was watching the Colorado Rockies baseball team make their run to the 2007 world series.
My dad's cool. He knows whats up and would partake in the herbal(not saliva I don't think he would like it given my experience, I could also be wrong as well) if it were not for the randoms he is forced into because of his line of work.
Anyhoo, I ran up the stairs like a child frightened by the boogieman. I yelled, "Dad! Dad! is every thing cool, I mean normal?"
In an entirely too long of an instant I returned at the end of the word normal.
Needles to say I had to explain myself. I had more problems finding the proper words to explain than my dad had with me. He thought it was funny actually.
I'm an adult.
I waited like 6 months after until the next time where I did not use a blue flame.
The results were not as intense. My brother in law said he raised above his body and watched our conversation in 3rd person.
I still have some. The same 10X potency sitting in my dresser drawer right now.
I am not really interested in finishing it.
I have herd people put this in a water pipe or bong, if you will.
I cant Imageion the 60X potency. All my life(new phrase to replace OMG)
If I get a wild hair, I'll let you know. I wont be watching south park durring the experience.
Not to try and bad mouth it. I just wish to share my previous exp. with you.
Anyone else?

I would not recommend watching southpark during a salvia experience. The sarcasm that is evident in the cartoon can become superimposed in the experience.

I have 40x and it is a quite an experience. I have yet to become terrified as I have had other experiences that have been terrifying for more than 24hrs straight.  ;D

The last time I did it I felt an inner pulling force that seemed to come on strong and then subdue, but it was traveling to certain parts of my body. I was consciously willing it to reach my pineal gland and when I felt the pull rise to the spot above my eyes I let it go and found myself in a chain of beings that were flashing before my eyes. I had a dual view of being connected in a chain, but also I felt like they were located in different parts of my body.

I can just imagine watching South park on this and losing my shit completely.
You gotta watch out for those sarcastic bastards m'kay?

I'm still in the the process of gathering material for my Salvia "project".  I've just taken delivery of three back issues of Salvia Divinorum magazine from the US which contains heaps of invaluable information about experiences, history and all kinds of stuff.  Plus, I hope to get my hands on my own living plant soon - they're really hard to grow in this climate apparently so I will have to consult my expert gardener (! ;D).  Intend to try chewing the leaves and see what happens.  The extract in all its strengths is also easily available here, so plan to find a space in which to try it soon in that form too.

Thanks for all the information and shared experiences so far given.  Love to all.   :) :-*

PS - will make a point of avoiding south park!

do NOT listen to trance
do NOT listen to pop
do NOT watch scary movies
do NOT ect  ;D

Keeping it initially positive, meditate before hand.. ask yourself why you want to do this trip.. you have to have a reason, not out of fear, but reason out of joy of exploration and curiosity.... ALWAYS have art that you would enjoy morphing around and distorting and doing all sorts of things while you trip.. if you even have a visual trip that is.... sometimes it can be emotionally and thought intensive so you want to be emotionally calm with positive intention, light hearted and joyous music is a +!... I would tell you right now that I wouldn't do any psychedelics... it's not that time of life yet.. never do them because you are bored because you are going to get an uncomfortable trip that you would find to be a waste
... Unless you enjoy being a white parking lot divider line. rotating laterally counter-clockwise, forklift like. ;D

I read somwhere that it won't work for everyone the first time around so I think that might be it. I'll try to take way deeper and intense tokes next time though and see what happens...

Just smoke it casually and normal, hold in the hit for 10 seconds. Even smoking it with bud helps, thats what I did the first time, but all the other times I was tripping and I couldn't wait to put more in the bong, still tripping? - take another hit!
