Yup, last night around 11:30pm I was playing a game when the apartment building started wobbling back and forth, almost as much as the 7.1 made it wobble. Keep in mind I'm on the 3rd story so I get the best effects of the 'ride'  XD
Earthquakes feel like nothing I've ever experenced as far as standing on a shaking surface, it's really deep, humble, and downright powerful.

LOL! I remember well. I was living out there in 1971 during the Sylmar earthquake, which was a 6.6. And I was in Orange County, in a single story house, and it shook dishes out of the kitchen cabinets.

Three quakes over 6.0 in less than an hour, in PAPUA, INDONESIA.

Quake of Papua coast kills 2

JAKARTA, June 16 (UPI) -- A 7-magnitude earthquake rumbled near the coast of Indonesia's West Papua province Wednesday, killing two people and injuring five, officials said.

The quake was about 125 miles north of Enarotali at depth of 18 miles, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Police in the neighboring city of Serui said the quake damaged 20 houses and caused several fires, Kyodo News reported.

Two smaller quakes with magnitudes of 6 and 6.2 hit the same area within 40 minutes of the initial earthquake, USGS said.

Officials issued a tsunami warning but later lifted it after a tsunami did not occur, China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported.

Too bad this wasn't located a little closer to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Maybe a good earthquake and a big sinkhole would flush away a few turds up there.

Anchorage, AK -- A powerful earthquake has shaken an Aleutian Island region of Alaska but there is no threat of a tsunami.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 6.7 magnitude quake struck at 9:56 p.m. Saturday and was centered in the Bering Sea about 155 miles southwest of Dutch Harbor and 930 miles west of Anchorage.

The quake hit about 21 miles beneath the seabed.

Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says there was no danger of a tsunami from the temblor.

USGS geophysicist Jessica Sigala says residents of the Dutch Harbor, the nearest sizable community, reported feeling a "weak shaking" from the quake.

Alaska's Earthquake Information center says there have been no report of injury or damage.

A magnitude 6 quake is capable of causing severe damage.

NEW YORK, July 23 (Xinhua) -- A strong earthquake of 6.9 magnitude struck Moro Gulf, Mindanao, Philippines on Saturday morning local time, the United States Geological Survey reported on its website.

The quake occurred at 6:08 a.m. local time on Saturday (2208 GMT Friday) and the epicenter, at a depth of 603.8 km, is 105 km away from Cotabato, Mindanao and 915 km away from the capital Manila, according to the USGS.

Stand by for heavy rolls.

Four earthquakes hit the Philippines in quick succession

Four earthquakes hit in quick succession the Moro Gulf, Mindanao area in the Philippines according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) early on Saturday. The first one, magnitude 7.3, took place on Friday at 22:08:11 UTC (Saturday 06:08:11 AM local time), at a depth of 604.5 kilometers (375.6 miles). The epicenter of this earthquake was located 102 kilometers southwest of Cotabato, Mindanao; and 915 kilometers south-southeast of the capital city Manila, USGS reported.

The second earthquake reached a magnitude 5.4, and occurred on Friday 22:19:35 UTC (Saturday 06:19:35 AM local time) at a depth of 594.8 kilometers (369.6 miles). The epicenter was located 95 kilometers west-southwest of Cotabato.

The third earthquake, magnitude 7.6, took place on Friday at 22:51:11 UTC (Saturday 06:51:11 AM local time) at a depth of 576.3 kilometers (358.1 miles). Its epicenter was reported to be located 115 kilometers southwest of Cotabato; and 945 kilometers (580 miles) south-southeast of Manila.

The fourth and last earthquake, magnitude 7.4, occurred on Friday at 23:15:08 UTC (Saturday 07:15:08 AM local time) at a depth of 616.7 kilometers (383.2 miles); its epicenter was located 121 kilometers (75 miles) southwest of Cotabato; and 910 kilometers (566 miles) south-southeast of Manila.

No damage has been reported, reported Rona Faeldin of the Philippines Coast Guard to CNN.

The Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has released notices in response to each of the four quakes, stating that no destructive force tsunami has been generated by the deep quakes.

The quake was reported felt in cities such as Zamboanga, and officials "were still determining if there were casualties or damages", Xinhua reported. A resident in the area, Yolly Andrias told Xinhua that "they were still sleeping when the strong quake awoke them."

An 8.0 earthquake struck the region in 1976, generating a tsunami which devastated 700 kilometers of coastline in the Sulu Archipelago and southern Mindanao island. The region includes faults in the Sulu Trench in the Sulu Sea and the Cotabato Trench, a subduction zone crossing the Celebes Sea and the Moro Gulf.

The earthquake in NZ was huge however what was most concerning was that aftershocks measuring up to 5.3 were still continuing a week after the major quake.

6.9 Mexico tremor shakes San Diego after California quake drill

Oct 21, 2010

At 10:21 a.m. West Coast time today, millions of Californians participated in the earthquake drill called The Great California ShakeOut. And just in time: 92 minutes later, a magnitude-6.9 quake struck off the coast of Baja, Mexico, shaking San Diego, almost 700 miles away.

So far there are no reports of injuries or major damage in Mexico.

Several smaller and moderate quakes rattled the Gulf of California region yesterday and earlier today, including one about 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time.

Indonesia Earthquake

Tsunami in Indonesia kills over 100 as earthquake triggers waves

Over a hundred have died and hundreds are missing.

(JAKARTA) - At 7:42 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on 25 October, an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 7.7 occurred in southern Sumatera, Indonesia.

Experts say it was triggered by a 7.7-magnitude undersea quake that struck the Mentawai Islands late Monday, killing at least 113 people and leaving hundreds missing. At least eight of the missing according to reports, are from other nations.

The event leaves thousands without homes, and Indonesia was double hit by the eruption of the Mount Merapi volcano that erupted three times locals say. The quake sent people running for safe ground, reportedly choking on smoke, many among them burned severely.

To make matters even worse, sources report that the volatile volcano has been rumbling intermittently throughout Tuesday, with scientists warning of what they fear, could be a far more powerful eruption.

Tim reports that over 129 active volcanoes can be found across Indonesia's 17,500 islands.
